Certain teams have the “wood” over the Bombers and the Blues are no exception. Col is hoping this won’t be the case this week when his Bombers take on nemesis Carlton.
A hard rain’s gonna fall!
Bomber bombs, Bombers overshoot runway, it can all get a little too much for Col but he will still be there cheering for his team against the Hawks.
Round 6: Competition is close with some unpredictable results so far. Sal’s predictions for this weekend.
Sal laments his team is in the doldrums but for the most part the competition it is pretty close with some unpredictable results. Some concern though about the lack of scoring and how easy it is to be defensive. Let’s see what this week brings as Sal presents his predictions.
Round 5 – Collingwood v Essendon: A Day To Be Thankful
Luke Reynolds is thankful on ANZAC Day. Thankful for the servicemen and women, for freedom, for being able to share in 7-year-old Josh’s first ANZAC Day game experience and thankful for a Collingwood win.
Round 5: Nine games over five days
Footy over five days! Col picks his winners.
Round 4 – Essendon v Port Adelaide: Power supply cut off by Bombers!
Bombers flick the switch and turn off the Power!
Round 4 Preview – Essendon v Port Adelaide: Do the Bombers have the Power to switch on?
Can the Bombers switch on against the Power on Sunday? Col certainly hopes so!
Top 50 AFL players 2017
This should start a few conversations. Lucas J’s Top 50 for 2017, with comparisons to his list from 2016. Plenty of fresh thinking in here.
Finals Week 1 – Sydney v Essendon: What a win, but: One week at a time!
When avid Swan fan Jan Courtin forced herself from her sick bed on Saturday afternoon, determined, no matter how she was feeling, to get to the SCG, little did she believe that her beloved team would come away with such an emphatic victory.
Finals Week 1: Sydney v Essendon: Of rainbows and fairytales
Sydney’s fairytale comeback in 2017 continued with a massive win over Essendon.
Round 17 – St Kilda v Essendon: Standing by
Yoshi needs answers from his Saints and worries they may still have a premiership hangover from 1966!
Round 17 – St. Kilda v Essendon: No Escargot, Baguettes Or Croissants For Saints On Bastille Day
Le Revolution is kaput! The myth of Liberte, Egalite, Fraternite promulgated by the propaganda machine of the footy moguls has been exposed once again by Braham Dabscheck for the lie it is, always has been and always will be. The Terror was unleashed on the Saints on Bastille Day by Robespierre with his pseudonym from the west ‘Woosha’, Danton who incorrectly spells his name as Daniher, which is apparently heredity and the Oxymoron St. Just; as if justice has ever been part of footy! Is there no better demonstration of this than the 2009 and 2010 Grand Finals? Braham rests his case in this entertaining account.
Round 16 – Essendon v Collingwood: (Almost) Six Feet Under
It wasn’t quite a Royal Rumble reminiscent of the heady days of the WWF’s ‘Attitude Era’; in fact, it wasn’t quite a highly skilled game of footy. However, after losing the unlosable against Sydney, and losing the even more unlosable against Brisbane, it made perfect sense that Essendon would bounce back to ‘form’ with a comfortable win over the old enemy reports Sam.
Round 8 – Essendon v Geelong: Bombers steam ahead of the Cats
Rod Oaten combined his two passions in one day: steam engines and the Essendon Football Club. Thankfully for him, both put on awesome performances and got the job done.
Round 7 Preview – We need to talk about about Hawthorn (and Sydney)
Sal notes a pair of Levis coming up against each other this weekend. Sadly, there’s no Denham in the AFL anymore
Round 6 Preview – The footy is singing but we don’t
Sal’s back with a preview of Round 6 of the AFL. Should AFL recruiters start testing singing ability?
Round 5 Preview: Bob is in his Castle!
With a very large nod to an Aussie film classic celebrating its 20th anniversary, Sal gives you all you need to know about Round 5.
Round 1 – Essendon v Hawthorn: Boy, am I proud to be an Essendon supporter!
Col had a great day cheering his Bombers on to a fantastic win at the MCG in their “Comeback Story”.
