Round 15 – Sydney v Gold Coast: Mea Culpa! Mea Culpa!

Jan Courtin misses her first Swans game at the SCG in 20 years but the Rising Sun Hotel in South Melbourne makes an admirable alternative for her to watch the game. Read her Round 15 report of Sydney’s clash against the Suns.

Round 15 – Sydney v Gold Coast: Not making the same mistake

The Swans keep on improving, the wins are coming, and things are looking up suggests Caspar McLeod reporting from the SCG for the Round 15 clash between Sydney and Gold Coast.

Round 8 – Sydney v Essendon: Either way, I win (and yet lose as well).

Caspar McLeod is a Bombers supporter who also supports the Swans, so he is a winner tonight as the Swans hold on to a 5 point victory in their Round 8 clash at the SCG.

Round 3 – Carlton v Sydney Swans: A footy win is a tonic

Reflecting upon her road travelled to the Harbour City, Jan Courtin prepares for her return to Melbourne, but not before watching her Swans score a desparately needed win against an improving Carlton.

Finals Week 1 – Swans v Giants: Elimination Final Preview

Almanacker Keiran is heading to the Americana Music Festival in Nashville, but that doesn’t mean he has abandoned his beloved Swans as this report shows.

Round 23 – Sydney v Hawthorn: A loss, but our 20th finals series in 23 years awaits!

One thing Jan Courtin knows for sure, despite this loss, and with a couple of their stars back, they’ll be fighting in true Bloods spirit to do whatever is needed, at home or away, to carry the Swans onto victory.

The Red and the White – Swans mid year review

Keiran figured the Swans chances of doing well in 2018 had dipped after some early season injuries to key players. And, you can’t put off your travel plans to the USA on the basis of your team maybe making the Grand Final … or can you Keiran asks as he reviews the half way mark for the Swans?

Round 12 – St. Kilda v Sydney: Reconnaissance

Joe Moore came to Melbourne for this one. And why not? How else would he experience what is “quite possibly now the third best day of my life…”?

The Red and the White – A Week Is A Long Time.

A week is a long time in footy; you are only as good as your last game, are two over used, though true sayings according to Keiren as he ponders recent performances by the Swans.

Round 7 – Sydney v North Melbourne: Opposition songs should never be heard at the SCG

The winning opposition’s team song lingers like a bad smell for Jan, infiltrating her bones, and getting the hippocampus all excited once more. Not a beneficial thought, one to get rid of claims Jan as she ponders the Swans defeat.

Round 3 – Sydney v GWS: Us winning is just as good as them losing!

According to Jan, Sydney played as a team, everyone contributed, and for the full four quarters. The Giants, those privileged young men who, despite being brilliant footballers, can still learn a thing or two from their eastern suburbs rivals – the Mighty Bloods! And long may it grow and last! Jan is excited by the Swans win.

Round 3: Preview – Let’s just get to the footy.

Wondering who to tip in the footy, or which horse to back? Sal presents his selections for your consideration.

Round 1 – West Coast v Sydney: What A Ripper!

What a game it was; and definitely a much better start to the year than last year for the Swans reports Daniel Saunders. He is eager for the Swans to bring it on and take it up to Port Adelaide next week! What a ripper this footy season is turning out to be writes Daniel. He is hopeful it makes up for the disappointing summer this year!

Finals Week 1 – Sydney v Essendon: What a win, but: One week at a time!

When avid Swan fan Jan Courtin forced herself from her sick bed on Saturday afternoon, determined, no matter how she was feeling, to get to the SCG, little did she believe that her beloved team would come away with such an emphatic victory.

Round 19 – Hawthorn v Sydney: Bloody Hawthorn!

Hawthorn continued to their winning ways against Sydney much to the dismay of Jan Courtin. North Melbourne’s win over Melbourne was the sole pleasing aspect of the weekend for Jan.

Round 18 – Sydney v St Kilda: Pride Match – Respects for individuals and being a proud Sainter

St Kilda just couldn’t compete with the pressure from Sydney on the weekend and Yoshi laments the fall out of the eight.

Round 18 – Sydney v St Kilda: Sinclair’s Moment

The Swans comfortably accounted for St Kilda; Daniel Saunders reckons the top four is a possibility.

Round 17 – GWS v Sydney: I could gloat – but I refuse!

The stats don’t interest Jan, the speculation doesn’t interest her. All she wants is for the Swans to continue playing good hard-fought contested footy, as they have in recent weeks, then all the hype can take care of itself. Jan is a happy lady at the moment! Maybe into September? Who knows!

Swans 2016: What Comes Before Pre

Rejoice. Mathilde is back for 2016. “It’s easy at the start of the season to take up the obvious, reassuring footy narrative. Positive thinking, the best of sports science mindfulness, confidence and pre-emptive strength. But the fact is, that the intra-club is the very beginning of something, the plan before it’s even hatched and we don’t know what will come. It can’t ever be truly mapped or pre-prepared. And it cannot be hurried. This is true light heartedness…”
