Round 19 GWS v St Kilda : Yet another footy odyssey with too many losses in a row but great people shine some light and warmth.

Yvette Wroby has a weekend of footy losses and at least some diversions. A weekend in Creswick was a good relief from football. There’s always next week.

Round 18 – St Kilda v Richmond: A footy odyssey in four parts

Our Japanese correspondent Yoshi Imagawa kept Yvette Wroby busy on a recent visit. Between young and old Caulfield Bears, footy for men and women, and a good old North Fitzroy Arms Hotel catch up, it was a pretty good few days…sans any Saints wins.

Please RSVP. Details within.

South East Women’s Football League Division 1 – St Kilda Sharks v Cranbourne: Bodies on the Line Part 2

Round 16 – St Kilda v Carlton: Bodies on the Line Part 1

Yvette Wroby and family enjoy a good win for the Saints, and the Blues become the topic of all media forums. Whew, say the Saints fans, it could have been us.

Yvette Wroby had many things to be happy about on the weekend. The Port Adelaide v Saints game just wasn’t one of them.

Round 15 – Melbourne v St Kilda: The Wow Factor

St Kilda had a win over Melbourne last Sunday. Yvette Wroby, along with many other Saints supporters, have had smiles on their faces since. Three wins and a draw feel pretty good. More wins would be better.

There’s still time to have your say at the AFL Fans Association Forum

Yvette Wroby and other Almanackers attended the AFL Fans Association Inaugural Fans Forum last Sunday. We were moderators on the day. You have your chance now to have your say, as we all did. Copy and paste and speak your mind. A collated document, without names, will be read by Head Office so here’s your chance to give your thoughts. Clocks ticking. Get them in soon.

Round 13 Gold Coast Suns v St Kilda A day spent hunting for red, white and black

While Yvette Wroby hunted Pokemon at Community Day, the Saints hunted their second win for the season. It was a good day for raids, battles and catching. (Do we call this one Yvette’s secret confessional? -Ed)

Round 12 – St Kilda v Sydney: ‘I am really depressed,’ he says.

Yvette Wroby didn’t make it to the game on Saturday night, a rarity in itself. But she has talked and listened to heaps of Saints supporters this week. If you see any, offer a warm bear hug.

Round 11 – West Coast Eagles v St Kilda: Red, White and Black in Four Parts

Yvette Wroby writes of four varied experiences in a weekend of red, white and black. It was some weekend.

Round 10 – Richmond v St Kilda Marvel: Land of superheroes and super villains.

Yvette Wroby takes herself to three games of footy last weekend, St Kilda v Richmond (loss), Southern Saints v Essendon (big win) and Sandringham Zebras v Werribee (big win). People and connections made this a wonderful weekend, and the new named partners of Docklands sent her report on a comic journey.

Round 9 – St Kilda v Collingwood: Almost mid-year report

Yvette Wroby remembers when report cards at school were simpler. She regresses to rating the last St Kilda game. There’s lots of A’s and E’s. And not much in between.

Round 8 – Fremantle v St Kilda: Ups and Downs

Yvette Wroby is running out of words for this season. Three images say it all for the St Kilda men’s team this year. All aboard. [Wonderful use of your beautiful art Yvette – Ed]

Round 7 – St Kilda v Melbourne: Wins, losses and life.

Yvette Wroby has an active footy weekend: Southern Saints VFLW practice at Moorabbin, Skybus Stadium Saturday morning, Frenken Homes Oval at Casey Fields Cranbourne Saturday afternoon to see the St Kilda Sharks, St Kilda Town Hall Sunday morning and watching her beloved Saints on Sunday afternoon. Babysitting Monday felt like a breeze!

Round 6 – Hawthorn v St Kilda: Sympathy and Time Out

Yvette Wroby is on holiday in mild, sunny Sorrento. Her Saints, not so much, though St Kilda’s skills were last seen touring Europe. Yvette hopes to see them next week at Etihad.

Round 5 – St Kilda v GWS: It takes a village

A village helped Yvette Wroby get to the Saturday afternoon game. And the village of noisy Saints supporters helped the Saints get within a whisker of an upset to top of the table GWS.

Round 4 – Geelong v St Kilda: Falling

Yvette Wroby shares more thoughts on St Kilda, travelling to Geelong, and falling in all its meanings. Writing, she finds, gives her a ‘hand-up’.

Round 3 – St Kilda v Adelaide Crows: Fans, Entitlement and Expectation: Searching for some meaning in football life.

Yvette Wroby enjoys her grandson playing Auskick, and doesn’t enjoy her Saints playing the Crows. She also is struggling with entitlement, fandom and expectation. AND it’s only Round 3!
