UNDER 16 GIRLS

A wonderful, totally memorable first ever season of girls cricket for the Pomborneit CC. A huge thank you to Steph Townsend for coaching the team, to Jaccob Rodda and the Colac District Cricket Association for embracing a club from a neighbouring association to take part, to the Irrewarra, Birregurra, Colac, City United and Apollo Bay clubs for playing the matches in great spirit as well as also making us feel most welcome. The Pomborneit Cricket Club very much looks forward to continuing and growing our girls and women’s cricket programs in 2020/21.

UNDER 13’s

A wonderful season has been completed by our Under 13’s, who while not playing for competition points put in very strong performances every week. Finn Tolland and Brady Bernoth move up to full time Under 16 cricket next season but both are already well versed in playing at that level. Many thanks to Simon Tolland, Glen Bernoth, Dave Murphy and Julie Whytcross for all your help across the season, as well as all the parents for your fantastic support of our Under 13’s. We look forward to running a bigger and better program for our Under 13’s in 2020/21!

WOOLWORTHS CRICKET BLAST PROGRAM

Season two of the Pomborneit Woolworths Cricket Blast program was extremely fun, attended by very enthusiastic participants, (Renegades shirts outnumbered Stars shirts this year) who had a great time under the tutelage of our Blast coordinator Dave Murphy (well done Dave!). Several of the 2018/19 Blasters graduated into our Girls team and Under 13 team in 2019/20, hoping to see all our Blasters from this year return for more cricket next season!

BULLNANZA

The 2019/20 “Bullnanza” was one of the best ones yet. The tickets sold out, the band “In Progress” were hugely entertaining, especially delighting the crowd by finishing with “Bulls on Parade”, and a great night was had by the large crowd in attendance.

FACILITY UPGRADE

As announced in January, our next project is an extension of our existing clubrooms at the Pomborneit Recreation Reserve. All of our fundraising efforts from the past 12 months and into the immediate future will be directed towards extensions to the clubrooms, which will see two new changerooms, showers, toilets and a storage room added to the existing building to handle our growing roster of senior, junior, girls and womens teams. Contact Dave or Luke if you wish to contribute to the project or find out more details.

TOYOTA GOOD FOR CRICKET RAFFLE

A fantastic fundraiser to get behind as 100% of the ticket money comes back to the club, plus you have a chance to win a car! 1st prize is a Toyota RAV4, 2nd prize a Toyota Camry and 3rd prize is a Toyota Corolla, plus several other great prizes to be won. 100% of your ticket price comes straight back to the club, with all money raised going towards the clubroom extensions. This year tickets are all online, get on board at https://toyotagoodforcricket.raffletix.com.au/pomborneitcc

POMBORNEIT CC 12th MAN CLUB

Our coterie group, the “12th Man Club”, has now ticked over 40 memberships! For just $6 a week you can join in the fun of social events, cash draws and raising money for the development of the club’s facilities. Already the 12th Man Club has funded the new premiership photos and frames and the new displays in the clubrooms showcasing our history, published the 2018/19 Annual Report, held social functions in and out of season, and looks forward to contributing to the clubroom extension. Steve Murphy has done a magnificent job in establishing and promoting the 12th Man Club and running the monthly draws. If you’d like to join in the fun, contact Steve AKA ‘Churchy’ on 0400 076 874.
