AFLW 2023 Grand Final: North Melbourne Kangaroos v Brisbane Lions

The North Melbourne Kangaroos will host the Brisbane Lions on Sunday afternoon at a sold out Ikon Park in the 2023 AFLW Grand Final. The match is scheduled to start at 2.30pm AEDT. Tickets for the 13,000-seat venue were snapped up within three hours of going on sale!

North Melbourne qualified for their first Grand Final with a one point win over pre-match favourites, the Adelaide Crows. Brisbane booked their place with a four point win over Geelong. They’ll be hoping to turn around last year’s close loss to Melbourne in what will be their fifth appearance in an AFLW Grand Final.

At the time of writing, the Kangaroos will start as favourites at about $1.75 while the Lions are at $2.10 in spite of their greater finals experience. Seemingly the bookies like the consistently impressive form of the blue and whites throughout the season while uncertainty over the availability of Brisbane’s key forward Dakota Davidson has to be factored in.

A tight contest is the favoured scenario with most tipsters expecting the final margin to be 10 points or less. Certainly the lead-up matches suggest that this will be the case. What chance a ripe-snorting nail-biter along the lines of the AFL decider two months ago?
