This is the earliest of these teams that I’ve been able to track down. Remembering, these kids were 15 or under in 1998.
Once you get past the dual-Brownlow winning Visy environmental ambassador, the Phelan Medallist and the be-hyphened Swans dual premiership player, the remainder could best be described as journeymen (which is pretty rich coming from a scrubber like me).
But there was a Ringin and a watch-wearing Wruck, just like your typical suburban or country Saturday arvo team (Fish Creek maybe?).
You know the drill – drop us a line in the comments if you’ve got something to share.

I’m interested in the Chris McDermott from the ACT. Wonder if he is part of the SA / ACT McDermotts that brought us Chris (Sr) and Paul…
Nathan Lonie but not Ryan.
Unusual?
Telling that Chris McDermott is absent. As he was about 35, he may have been up at Port Douglas, snorkelling on the reef, or in the casino.
It’s a pretty thin list. But apparently Shaun Rehn didn’t even make the Eyre Peninsula side at eighteen. Late bloomers, except for C. Judd, of course.
Good job again Swish. When are the old CDFC photos coming out? Need to see some snaps of B. McGuire (playing quite nicely).
