The Tigers Almanac 2019 Launch at the North Fitzroy Arms Hotel
After a very hot day in Melbourne last Tuesday, Almanackers and friends caught up for a relaxing cooling drink, a chance to mingle and chat, and eventually to raise their glasses to launch the Tigers Almanac 2019 at the wonderful North Fitzroy Arms Hotel.
With John Harms in sparkling form, he provided an entertaining welcome, and informative introduction to the book and its developmental processes, before introducing MSO conductor, Ben Northey.
Ben spoke enthusiastically about his background, his love of the Tigers, and his career in music. John Northey is his uncle. Then he picked up the baton, in the form of a plastic drinking straw, and conducted the “choir”, leading us all in a heartfelt rendition of the Tigers theme song.
A fabulous evening was enjoyed by all.

Good to put faces to some of the names that I have read for years. Hmmm?
Festive (right word?) best wishes to you all from a red hot CB in Mildura!
Looking forward to the Boxing Day Test and a Grand Year in 2020 at The Cattery.

How’s that Almanac youth policy going?
Speak for yourself Swish!!
Great night. Always fun to chat to the Knackers after a long season. The Carltons were going down a treat too.
Great pix. The roar of the grease paint; the smell of the audience. Some of the clothing choices very dubious. You know who you are. (PF – is that early dementia or did you lose a bet? Condolences either way.) Seasons greetings to all from the Almanac’s desert outpost on the Fatal Shore. Hospitality and derision always extended to any visiting Almanackers. Loves you’s all. PB & AE.
Great stuff. We are young until we are dead! Take it easy in the heat Knackers and enjoy Christmas and New Year.
As my friend Oscar said” Youth is wasted on the young”.
Thank you for posting. Great pics. Looks like a good time had by all. Putting a face to a name and comparing the mental vision beforehand is always an interesting exercise I find.
Compliments of the season to all.

Thanks, Colin: adds even more names to faces, and the latter to bylines
Had ideas of using your pic in my profile, but…
Percy’s Pentridge Pale Ale packs a punch.
An enjoyable regale cut a bit too short because Portarlington can be a hike when you’re not a crow.
May you all linger longer!
Great night
As always.
Similar to other comments above, enjoyable evening and great to put faces to names of other lovable scallywag Knackers (sic). Happy Christmas to all. RDL
Magnificent photos, really disappointed to have been unable to attend.
Well done, Col.
You are a dab hand with the camera.
