Pouting pushes Pies to victory.

SIREN, the first quarter ends.

Collingwood- 1                  Port Adelaide- 33

I don’t need this, I REALLY don’t need this.

I’m sick, I’m sore, I’m tired and I had a dizzy spill this morning.

I refuse to go back to the doctors despite mums pleas and constant-

“Danni, listen to me and let me take you to the doctor!”

– “NO!”

If I have to sit in that waiting room again I think I’ll explode!

This score line is the LAST thing I need right now.

What is this crap?

I’m sitting, arms folded across my chest, a crease in my forehead, my bottom lip slightly pouted like a cute little kid, unimpressed with a birthday gift.

Although this isn’t a lousy gift its worse, it’s my team playing like a bunch of somethings.

I want MY Collingwood boys not these clumsy, messy, sad imposters!

How depressing, my new diet fails me in my reaction to the game, I eat a packet of Skittles, a packet of M&Ms and a Snickers bar, Thanks boys now I’m gonna be FAT!

Daisy is frustrated, the rest of the boys are stunned, lost and Port keep sending through more goals.

“Effing cocky Port Adelaide”

Finally my pouting guilts them into playing like they should be; the boys take a good look at how much they sucked and kick it to high gear.

Swanny clears from the middle, the ball reaches our 50, I take a breath and all is well again.

Swan goes… bang

Didak goes… BANG!

Superman gets it to Clokey who goes… SHA-BANG!!

Didak kicks another to sweeten the deal.

“BEAMSY, you ray of SUNSHINE, YOU!”

THIS is MY Collingwood, hell YEAH!

Blair shows his flair and pops one home.

The team work of Superman and Dawes spreads a smile across my tired, pale face.

I ignore the commentators, Jack played well in my eyes.

He tackles, he chased, he contributed in getting the footy to other goal kickers, he went in and tried to help in the clearances, he even tried to take a big grab, so any one who says he didn’t play well, can get stuffed!

Jack is working hard and as long as he does that I’ll stand by my man.

The final frontier is lead by Baby Magpie Blair and Jolly follows him insuring that there really is no place for Fraser any more.

Daisy gets his second, Dawesy his third and Browny gets career goal 100.

The siren sounds, a 26 point victory to my boys.

The medicine has made me drowsy, my body aches for my bed.

Another victory, another day in the life of a Magpie and I wouldn’t live it any other way.

  1. Great report Danni,

Yeah the first quarter wasn’t looking too good for your boys, and I actually found myself barracking for Port Adelaide to send Mark Williams off with a win. It didn’t happen though, and I don’t seem to care.

How could you eat a snickers bar? Disgusting.. I think I needed to do more than pout today to get North over the line.

  2. By the way, agree on the waiting rooms. They are hell. Especially when you’re sick.
