  1. can u send me a copy of those photos?

  2. The title of the article, and the fact the current FA Music theme is Songs Referencing Catching, got me thinking of doing a cricket team of players who had taken the most catches. I could have also done a cricket team of where every player has been known to take a great catch, but instead wanted to pay tribute to the most catches taken.

The team was also selected on team balance. For example, Steve Smith took more Test catches than Mark Waugh. Both players are number 4 batsmen, so Mark Waugh was demoted to 12th man.

In brackets, are the number of catches they have taken in Test Cricket.

This is the Australian Test Catching Team:

    Mark Taylor (157)
    Matthew Hayden (128)
    Ricky Ponting (196)
    Steve Smith (215)
    Michael Clarke (134)
    Allan Border (c) (156)
    Adam Gilchrist (wk) (379)
    Mitchell Starc (46)
    Shane Warne (125)
    Pat Cummins (36)
    Glenn McGrath (38)
    12th man: Mark Waugh (181)

This team will play a pretend exhibition match against a Rest of the World Test Cricket Catching Team:

    Alastair Cook (175)
    Graham Smith (c) (169)
    Rahul Dravid (210)
    Joe Root (216)
    Mahela Jayawardene (205)
    Jacques Kallis (200)
    Ian Botham (120)
    Mark Boucher (wk) (532)
    Shaun Pollock (72)
    Muttiah Muralitharan (72)
    James Anderson (107)
    12th man: Stephen Fleming (171)

Venue: Catch Stadium (Playground in India)
Entertainment: The song “Catch a Falling Star”, by Perry Como

Let’s hope for a good game of cricket that will be eye-catching!
