Old Timers at the Bar

These men defame
the modern game.

They only praise
the good old days.

Comments

  1. That sounds familiar!

  2. They comment on the Almanac
Where good times are always looking back

    Complain about politics, kids, neuralgia
    They only antidote – nostalgia

  3. Ain’t that the truth, Peter. And Smokie, I wonder what our mate Richo would think of this one?

  4. DB, one question, young man, when does one enter the Old Timer zone. (Asking for a friend).

Love the fun and the sharpness.

  5. PS Not asking for Baulderstone. He has more self-knowledge than that.

  6. JTH, it’s a bit like music methinks, the era we grew up with is always better than the current.
I remember as a kid in the 80s, people telling me the footy in the 50s and 60s was a much better spectacle – yet the only footage I’d ever seen was 1) Teddy Whitten kicking a mongrel punt from the boundary and 2) Teddy Whitten shoving an opponent’s head into the mud.
