#almanac280 – Tigers: A season, memories, moments

Last week we asked the you and the Twitterverse to send us short stories that made the most of Twitter’s new 280 character limit – inspired by Tigers 2017.

We had some great entries. Check them out here: https://www.footyalmanac.com.au/almanac280-writing-competition-tigers-2017/

Last week we also said that:
Three (3!) copies of the Tigers’ Almanac 2017 are up for grabs. One each to writers of the top three stories, in the spirit of the Almanac.
The winning entries will be announced on Friday 15 December.

We had old memories juxtaposed with new:

Simple joy:

Of the unlikely:

We had honesty.

And a classic pie night speech.

But the three selected winners were –

A reading of the tea leaves from Peter Warrington:

Paddy Grindlay’s idea of The Moment:

And Geoff Matheson’s 280 character Tale of the Tigers’ Season 2017.

Congratulations and many thanks to all involved.
