Almanac Teams: Celebrities who share the same name as footballers

Buzz Lightyear [Source: Edo-biscuit]
This week’s side features two US presidents, Buzz Lightyear, a West Indian quick bowler, a singer/songwriter for the Beach Boys, the French writer of Les Misérables and Hunchback of Notre Dame, a Melbourne Cup winning jockey and the ex-husband of Jennifer Lopez.
Most of these players are from the 1980s onwards and I started listing these down when doing my jumper number teams the previous two years with a novelty team in mind at a later date. I have ended up with a squad but of the team of 22 and there are theme lines. Actors in the backline, Cricketers across half back, singers in the centre and political leaders across half forward.
From the original list I have not really looked for any more names as it was already a good squad, but I know there are more players that share their name with notable people; I look forward to more suggestions regardless of when the player played!

Glen!
Great work mate. Loved it.
RDL
Thanks Rodney,
Another star-studded team.
Paul Kelly could also be the political journalist.
Interesting that Neil Harvey was christened Robert Neil.
Garner and Hadley on the back flanks would be a formidable new-ball attack
Ben Johnson is also the name of a former South Australian cricketer. A top-order left-handed batsman and part-time right-arm medium-pacer, he bowled Allan Border three times in the latter part of the 1994-95 Sheffield Shield season (twice in Adelaide, and once in Brisbane). The latter occasion was the Shield final, when Queensland won the competition for the first time. In the final, Border was on 98 when he attempted to drive Johnson through the off side, only to inside-edge the ball onto the stumps.
Matthew Ryan was also a Canterbury Bulldogs rugby league player.
There was also a Western Australian left-arm pace bowler named Michael Clark.
In the 1990s there were two state cricketers named Mark Atkinson (one was the Tasmanian wicketkeeper, the other was a Western Australian fast-medium bowler).
Rodney,
It’s stretching your concept beyond breaking point, but might offer a mild diversion to note that a low-profile player at Carlton in the noughties (later at Port Adelaide) Darren Pfeiffer was inevitably nicknamed Michelle by the wags on the Carlton supporters’ website in reference to the stunning actress.
Very nice team mate!
I’ll add Brad Shephard, the 200 game West Coast player and Brad Shephard, the awesome lead guitarist and occasional singer of the legendary Hoodoo Gurus.
Glenelg left-footed forward Luke Reynolds (100+ games and the 2019 SANFL premiership) shares his moniker with the Pomborneit Cricket Club star and Almanac allrounder.
Thanks Glen I remember the piece now, I even commented.
Sorry Dan unaware of the political journalist.
Thanks Liam the Michael Clark I believe is the same person, he is the son of Wayne. I do remember Johnson the cricketer.
Thanks Peter that could be a team in the future footballers with nicknames based on celebrities.
Thanks Luke was unaware of that one, only could recall Dave Faulkner
That’s good one Mickey, I thought it was actually Luke who was rookie listed by Carlton
