Hi Punters,
Unfortunately there will be no Melbourne Cup trifecta zoom get-together this year.
However, just for interest’s sake, please add your tips to the comments, or at the bottom of Sal’s Melbourne Cup preview.
Good punting

Comrades,
For anyone remotely interested in fun ways to lose a dollar my outright winning suggestion for a whole phalanx of reasons is Absurde (9).
For those wanting multiple betting strategies, start with 1, 9, 13 and 18 as your core numbers and add any other(s) that take your fancy. Mind you, I’m not sure what the Latin is for “all care and no responsibility” but I impose this caveat nonetheless.
And of course, while I did correctly tip consecutive winners Vow and Declare (2019) and Twilight Payment (2020) at previous Almanac Cup functions, I have unfortunately been “wrong wrong wrong” – as Joh Bjelke-Petersen once incorrectly alleged Jan Wendt was way back than – in many other years.
Having said that, as the late Bill Collins would say “may Dame Fortune smile upon you!”

RDL,
Bert Bryant’s disclaimer was “all persons travelling on this conveyance do so at their own risk”. I do respect your informed judgment on the four legged lottery.
As for me, I’ve belatedly accepted the reality that I am the mug money, so I will refrain this afternoon from adding to a lifetime of backing losers. My current live bet – with an even greater psychological investment – is on the big match across the Pacific. I’m all in on Kamala.
The whole spring carnival slipped by me this year. Haven’t watched a race. Other priorities unfortunately.
