Almanac Lunch: Sept 9th – Gareth Andrews and Ray Wilson before Hawks v Cats

The next Almanac Lunch will be a beauty. In the lead-up to the Geelong v Hawthorn clash at the MCG our guests will be Gareth Andrews and Ray Wilson. Both have many stories from their time in and around football.

Gareth enjoyed a 167-game career with the Cats and Tigers, was Geelong Vice President for 15 years, a member of the 1974 Tigers premiership team and was joint founder of the AFLPA. He is currently doing some excellent work with LifeAgain, a foundation inspiring men to be their best.

Ray is one of only three Hawks to win a B and F in their first year (1966) and played in the 1971 premiership team where he “ran through Carl Ditterich.” He is also finishing up after almost 20 years as an Advisory Board member at the AFLPA, so might have a tip or two on what to watch out for in the current negotiations. His beloved Uni Blacks might also get a mention.

It will be the perfect lead-in to the big match later in the evening. Please RSVP via [email protected]. $40 for 3 courses with drinks at bar prices.

Also a quick plug for the Almanac Grand Final Eve lunch: Sept 30 at the Fitzroy Town Hall. Full details here
