Denis Graham reports from the Lancefield Football Club’s 150th anniversary celebrations that occurred on Saturday 27 May.
A very good audience of over 200 people attended the launch of the book by The Age sports editor Chloe Saltau.
Unfortunately, the Lancefield Tigers went down but weren’t disgraced in front of an all time record home and away crowd. Old timers did note- there were no good blues!
The auctions of the players heritage jumpers went nuts. All sold. The local pub purchased a framed version with all living premiership coaches and captains autographs. It sold for over $4000.
We reckon he recouped his outlay that same night over the bar.
