Almanac Cricket – Fractious Divisions: Selecting the First Ashes Test XI

In a little under a week from now, the Australian Ashes tour of England gets underway when the Australians play Kent in their opening tour match ahead of the first test on July 8th.

Following a highly successful campaign in the Caribbean, the competition is fierce for spots in the test side to take on England, and retain the Ashes.

Ahead of next Thursday’s tour match in Canterbury, Test cricket aficionado – Cricket Froth – runs the rule over a possible First Test XI.
