Almanac Book Review – The Eagles Almanac 2018: First published in Perth’s Sunday Times

Tony Barrass writes for The Sunday Times in Perth. He is the father of West Coast player Tom Barrass. Tony was our guest at The Footy Almanac Grand Final Eve Lunch. He was one of the interviews that afternoon – and gave us some terrific insights into the West Coast Eagles season. He stayed on to enjoy the festivities and met many of the Almanac’s usual suspects. It was an excellent day (and night).

After the Eagles won what was a superb Grand Final I sent Tony a copy of The Eagles Almanac 2018. He penned this piece for yesterday’s Sunday Times in Perth. A huge thanks to you Tony for this wonderful expose of the book and the Almanac community:

  1. Hey, who is the nerdy accountant?

  2. Yeah, that’s what I want to know too!!

  3. The bloke is clearly a discerning critic of good writing. 7 f’in articles in the f’in book – and nary a mention. ‘Nuf said. I get the message. I always said leave ’em while they’re laughing – and a Grand Final win is as good a time as any.
Stopping writing will give me more time to prepare my assault on the Senior PGA Tour.

  4. Surely you won’t need the $5 on the 5th of every month, if Eagles’ fans, reading the article, respond as they should and buy the book!
    Great write-up!
