Writers Event: Wilson, Doherty, Hogg, Harms: What is the Word for Word Festival?

The Word for Word National Non-fiction Festival is Australia’s largest festival showcasing non-fiction literature, writing and ideas.

The festival, which will be held at Deakin University’s Waterfront Campus in Geelong, returns from 11th–13th September 2015 and will include three days of workshops, panel discussions, ‘in conversation’ sessions and and this year’s keynote speaker is Tim Flannery.

The Almanac’s very own John Harms will be joined by former Australian Test and ODI fast bowler Rodney Hogg and surfing journo Sean Doherty to discuss the technicalities of sports writing in Good Sports, which will be chaired by Tony Wilson on Saturday September 12th at 10:00am

As well as JTH, Tony Wilson, and Hoggy, panelists at a number of presentations and forums across the weekend include luminaries such as Hannie Rayson, Sue-Ann Post, Dave Mason (of The Reels) Derek Guille, Phil Cleary, Malcolm Knox, Ramona Koval, Alecia Simmonds, Ross Gittins, Latika Bourke, Nicky Buckley and Almanacker Cheryl Critchley.
