The Wantok Musik Foundation

David Bridie is a longtime Melbourne and Almanac supporter. He also happens to be a renowned musician, famous for groups such as Not Drowning, Waving, My Friend The Chocolate Cake, as well as his own considerable solo career.

He is also the founder and Artistic Director of Wantok Musik Foundation; a not-for-profit music label that records, releases and promotes culturally infused music from Indigenous Australia, Melanesia and Oceania.

  1. Among the many acts David has been involved with, he has produced a couple of albums by Frank Yamma, which I’d heartily recommend (Countryman & Uncle).
