The Odd Friday Lunch: April 27th at the North Fitzroy Arms with Alex Marcou

Alex Marcou at Carlton

The next Odd Friday Lunch on Fri 27th April is a Footy Almanac Lunch to be run by John Harms. We have Alex Marcou as our special guest, a very entertaining and amusing speaker.

Alex played 158 VFL/AFL games, 134 of them for Carlton. He was a three-time premiership player with the Blues (1979 and 1981-82) and member of their famous “mosquito fleet” of small forwards and midfielders, with Alex as their sublimely skilled rover.

A member of the Carlton Hall of Fame, he also represented the Big V on three occasions.

He also played 24 games for St Kilda, before joining VFA/VFL side Springvale under their coach and his ex-Carlton teammate, Phil Maylin. After his playing career ended, he returned to Princes Park as an active member of the past players group.

The last Odd Friday Lunch on 13th April with Barry Mitchell. was another very interesting and entertaining lunch. Barry may have been a few minutes late, but he was well worth the wait.
