The Footy Almanac Podcast – Episode 11

Footy’s own Goddess Angela Pippos as well as Neighbours and EastEnders writer and Sports hair connoisseur Peter Mattessi join The People’s Elbow (as Homer Thompson)and Matty Q on the Almanac couch for this bumper episode 11.

This week, we open our arms wide and embrace the world of sport as we talk World Cup happenings (including some great sporting hair), tennis and pay homage to a genuine UFC trailblazer. And with the Tour de France, Wimbledon and the British Open golf happening, the couch ponders how insignificant AFL can be at times, despite the endless column inches and TV minutes devoted to the sport on our fine shores.

  1. Rick Kane says

Excellent, very funny and engaging. Except when sticking it to the Netherlands. Peter and Angela lifted the tone, Homer T and Matty Q, great as usual. Cheers

  2. Malcolm Ashwood says

Excellent again enjoyed the fun and frivolity , the show flowed brilliantly and as a crows supporter thanks , Angela ! All played we’ll

  3. Great stuff again, guys.
Always wonderful to hear a female supporter’s voice on the podcast,
as the wall-to-wall footy coverage on tv etc can be so male dominated
    and vanilla.
And hosting duties back with the Elbow?

  4. Mark 'Swish' Schwerdt says

Me too on the ladies lifting the tone in recent weeks (I’m not sure that the Todd Carney discussion would have gone down the Kelvin Cunnington path if Cheryl or Ange were on).

Also, great to see the return of the thermos, can we see a discourse on rugs and baskets in coming weeks?
