Last week we called for entries into our ‘Name the Teams for the Second Test’ competition. We attracted a small but talented field of punters who showed a very high level of insight into team selections.
Entrants were torn between the “don’t change a winning team” theory and the “rotation of fast bowlers” policy that seems to be in vogue for this tightly packed series.
A couple of our punters jumped in early with their squads and missed out on some of the late mail, especially with regard to the Australian team and the substitution of Hazlewood for Pattinson. Maybe there’s a lesson there for future reference.
Out of a possible 22 correct names, we had three scores of 20, and one of 21 while our winner correctly named all 22! Ian Hauser is on a roll after also coming out on top with our First Test competition. Bragging rights remain north of the Tweed!
Hopefully we’ll be ready to go again for the Third Test next week.
