Stereo Stories was established over a decade ago by writer Vin Maskell. The unique intertwining of personal story-telling and music has been a cornerstone of the Williamstown Literary Festival for many years, performing annually to appreciative audiences in the hundreds. The authors to have been involved in the Stereo Stories concept over the years have included some of Australia’s finest – Andy Griffiths, Jock Serong, Markus Zusak, Brian Nankervis, Christian White, Angela Savage, Thomas Mayo, and Danny Katz are but a few of the names to have graced the Stereo Stories stage.
On a personal level, it has been an honour for me to be involved in shows at my Williamstown ‘home ground’, but also venues and festivals as far-flung as Geelong, Albury, Brunswick, and Terang.
Stereo Stories has now evolved to the point where it is dipping its toes into print! Alongside writer Lucia Nardo, I am humbled to have been selected as one of the initial two authors to have collections of stereo stories published in book form. Our collections of stories are the first in a series of micro-books about the songs that stay with us, forever and a day. Small books (just 60 pages each) but with big stories. With a love of song and family shining through.
I’m really looking forward to this. And I would love for fellow Almanackers to join Lucia, myself, and the brilliant Stereo Stories Band at a special book launch and show to celebrate Stereo Stories entering the world of the published word. If you have always wanted to come along to a Stereo Stories show, this might be the one! Details:

Brilliant, Smokie. Am sure this will be outstanding. And congratulations on being one of the print pioneers!
Congratulations Smokie…as I have previously mentioned, if I lived down that way I would definitely be among the throng to cheer you on.
Great stuff Smoke. Stereo Stories is a terrific idea – it produces writing, music and events of substance and consequence, as attendances and affection for it demonstrate.
Well done Smokie. A richly deserved recognition.
Excellent Smokie! Huge congrats. Your Stereo Stories essays deserve to be published as they stand as a collection of witty, insightful, memorable takes on life. As does Lucia Nardo, who has also written (and performed) a bunch of heartfelt stories. See you at the launch! Cheers
Great work Smokie. I hope it goes well.

This is great stuff Smokie (and Lucia and Vin). Well played.
Thanks for all your supportive comments.
Great job Smokie, it’s on my list of dates.
3 Harris street, down in the old industrial area near the Maribyrnong. Not a million miles from where I currently work. Gee whizz, that neck of the woods has changed a bit.
