St Kilda Banner for Round 1, 2017

MELvSTK

Former Melbourne player and one of my favourite SEN presenters David Schwarz “Ox” cries out the AFL fixture of Round 1 next year.

Ox is not happy with his old club playing at Etihad Stadium against the mighty Saints.

He is worried not to win the first game because Demons have bad records at Docklands and against St Kilda.

My suggestion for the St Kilda’s banner for the game is:

“We are having good and bad times like roll coasters

“But we take big challenges opposed to you who tanked

“Then nothing happens with evil spirits and Ox pleads not to play here against us

“We are Saints ruling out Demons

I would suggest Ox that his opinion shows that while the Saints are brave the Demons are timid.

No matter what Ox does, we will win the first game in 2017. Go Saints!

About Yoshihiro Imagawa

Love, passion and pride are seen on the footy that is the biggest part of my life. 1. St Kilda Club member: I am a passionate and crazy Sainter. Just hope we will win the second flag soon, especially after Dogs and Tigers having ended long premiership draughts. 2. The Osaka Dingoes Player and Public Relations Officer: Player number 44 that I chose to honour Stephen Milne with my wish being like a small forward like him. Lenny Hayes' hardworking attitudes are adopted on my trainings and practices. Nick Riewoldt's great plays are in my player audiobook too. 3. Writing: Here on the Almanac and also on the World Footy News. My skills utilise on great footy websites.

  1. Neil Anderson says:

How about Saints casting out Demons Yoshi. They better start working on the banner now to make sure they’ve got enough letters for all those words.
The entire fixture is out on Thursday so that will create lots more comment. I see the Bulldogs are still playing a home game in Cairns against Gold Coast. Seems like we are still not that rich after the premiership that we need to make money by travelling north. It’s also after getting a better deal playing at Etihad, now that the AFL owns the venue.

  2. Len Rodwell says:

Neil, the Dogs have a good record in Cairns so I think continuing to play that fixture is a good idea. I found my version of heaven last week while in Brisbane on my way home to Honiara Solomon Islands. I purchased a DVD of the Grand Final was able to relive with the game without the anxiety and anguish of the day.
Yoshi good luck to the Saints in 2017. In general Sainters are a good bunch.

  3. Neil Anderson says:

Sorry to make this all about the Dogs Yoshi, but we are in a continual state of bliss after the premiership.
Len, you remind me of all the ‘add-ons’ from that day such as purchasing the DVD and watching it later stress-free. The Bulldog web-site is full of people and their collection of Bulldog memorabilia.
How many years and in my case decades, have we seen all that stuff in different club colours from October onwards.
I’m not particularly worried about the Dogs playing in Cairns. I was thinking about the irony of still needing to make money with a home game up north after the premiership.

  4. G’day Neil and Len,

    Thanks for your comments!

Neil – I like your idea writing “Saints casting out Demons” in the banner. It’s a good one and thanks for expressing your idea. I hope you extend good records up in Cairns. I have a friend who lives there and supports Richmond and could ask him and his girlfriend to attend the game and support your Doggies for the game?? And I like you talking about the Bulldogs. No need to apologise.

Len – Thanks for your warm wishes for the mighty Saints. Enjoy the Grand Final DVD!

    Cheers

    Yoshi
