Round 7 – Haiku Bob: voices carry
interstate game
fans take their seats
on the couch
shocking decision
my daughter and I
swear in sync
back-to-back-goals
voices carry
down the street
Daicos goals . . .
this week the other one
resembles him more
2 goals down
2 minutes to play
I see the future
life after death
we hit the front
with seconds to play
driving home
the little bump
of a flattened crow

About rob scott
Rob Scott (aka Haiku Bob) is a peripatetic haiku poet who calls Victoria Park home. He writes haiku in between teaching whisky and drinking English, or something like that.

Must say that I thought we were in with a chance in that last quarter because everything happened up the other end. When they came down to our end they went on the other side of the ground.
In this way the Crows did very well in the third quarter because it was all up the other end as I explained to a large Crows supporter in front of me. He was not impressed.
Could not get a bus to the Adelaide oval so ended up catching a taxi. The cabbie dude said that we were the first couple he’d taken to Adelaide oval while the footy was on…
Excellent. My daughter and I swear in sync. Laughed and nodded.

Love it, HB
