Round 6 – There was an old coach named Ken

The home away from home
Canberra fans did groan
As the Saints held on with a grin
For a 17-point win
The Giants sinking on the ladder like a stone.
GWS Giants 8.12 (60) lost to St Kilda 10.17 (77)
The Bulldogs and Crows were neck and neck
Who could pull an ace from the deck?
In the end it was a Ballarat corker
And 3 goals from Taylor Walker
Leaving the Dogs hopes lost in a one-point wreck.
Western Bulldogs 9.8 (62) lost to Adelaide 8.15 (63)
The was an old coach name Ken
Who had not had a win up until then
But the Eagles were poor
Which opened the door
And 4 points went to Ken and his men
Port Adelaide 18.9 (117) def West Coast 4.9 (33)
Freo hosted the Blues
And Cerra copped the boos
Those folks from over east
Respect Freo the least
Even with Cripps the Blues did loose.
Fremantle 14.13 (97) def Carlton 9.8 (62)
In sunny Hobart the Cats were hammerin’
Kangaroos fans were clamourin’
So many defensive holes
They lost by 10 goals
Including 7 kicked alone by Cameron
North Melbourne 9.7 (61) lost to Geelong 17.19 (121)
The Gold Coast have been on the improve
But no match for their neighbours groove
They met for the Q clash
But like Joe’s big moustache
The Lions form looks too good to remove
Gold Coast 11.14 (80) lost to Brisbane Lions 21.6 (132)
A battle of two recent champs
ANZAC eve under the big lamps
A tight footy contest
But the Dees came out best
Label them with undefeated stamps
Richmond 8.6 (54) lost to Melbourne 9.22 (76)
The was a kid named Callum Mills
He was from Mosman, not Baulkham Hills
Down in Launceston
He was named best-on
37 possessions of the red pills.
Hawthorn 10.8 (68) lost to Sydney 16.13 (109)
ANZAC Day at the G
Some Diggers went to the footy
They saw Ginnivan, Jack
Inspire the team in white and black
His poor teammate Kreuger out of the game with injury
Essendon 12.1 (82) lost to Collingwood 15.3 (93)
