Round 5 – St Kilda v Richmond: Extremely disappointing and devastating loss

Thursday 15 April 2021

Marvel Stadium, Docklands

I am not talking about the game much today. It was an extremely disappointing and devastating loss and my boys did not fight much in honour of late Maddie Riewoldt.

Marshall being out as the late change, footy was not cleared from the centre much. Midfielders didn’t back followers. No follow up allowed Richmond to do their ways.

Our defenders hardly won contested marks in our back line. Jack Riewoldt won uncontested marks so that he ended up kicking six goals.

Saints missed a good opportunity at second quarter (Max King only kicking a minor score), and couldn’t get back the entire match. We couldn’t afford losing chances.

Boys need to do homework. Losing many top players should not be an excuse much. Other players need to back up injured ones.

Saints supporters need to cheer boys loud. I don’t want to have another bad loss to Port Adelaide because I hate Power (as well as Richmond indeed)!

PS: Bagging on players and coaches is intolerance and I have decided to have a three-day break from social media. Poor Bradley Hill. I am with him…

About Yoshihiro Imagawa

Love, passion and pride are seen on the footy that is the biggest part of my life. 1. St Kilda Club member: I am a passionate and crazy Sainter. Just hope we will win the second flag soon, especially after Dogs and Tigers having ended long premiership draughts. 2. The Osaka Dingoes Player and Public Relations Officer: Player number 44 that I chose to honour Stephen Milne with my wish being like a small forward like him. Lenny Hayes' hardworking attitudes are adopted on my trainings and practices. Nick Riewoldt's great plays are in my player audiobook too. 3. Writing: Here on the Almanac and also on the World Footy News. My skills utilise on great footy websites.

  1. Good on you Yoshi for sticking with Brad Hill – he will come good!

As will the Saints. It is a long season. Disappointing, but better days ahead.

    All the best,
