The Blues competed with no Voss

Covid ruled out their boss

The Bulldog’s last quarter poor kicking

Saw them take a licking

And a second consecutive loss

Western Bulldogs 13.12 (90) def. by Carlton 16.6 (102)

There was a man named Lance

Who lead defenders on a merry dance

They came from the stand

As he notched up a grand

The poor Cats never stood a chance

Sydney 17.5 (107) def. Geelong 10.17 (77)

Collingwood hosted the Crows

They were never headed by their interstate foes

There was no harm

From a mid-game false alarm

To the Pies, the four premiership points goes.

Collingwood 15.10 (100) def. Adelaide 8.10 (58)

Two metre Peter got Essendon out of the blocks

The Lions put them back in their box

Though Jo Daniher was booed

He goaled one, then two

And late, the Bombers lost an injured Nik Cox

Essendon 10.15 (75) def. by Brisbane Lions 15.7 (97)

Lewis and Gunston and Breust

Kicked 11 goals in a boost

To an emerging Hawks team

Not recently seen

Leaving Port feeling somewhat abused.

Port Adelaide 7.14 (56) def. by  Hawthorn 19.6 (120)

The Dees banked another four points for fun

Petracca continued to run

The Suns without Rankine

Just couldn’t get crankin’

Even though Touk Miller’s a gun.

Gold Coast 10.9 (69) def. by Melbourne 12.10 (82)

Covid caused havoc out West

For the Eagles this would be a test

The Kanga’s did pounce

But not completely trounce

Larkey with 6 was the best.

North Melbourne 10.14 (74)  def. West Coast 8.11 (59)

Callan Ward notched up game 250

Very early the Giants looked nifty

But the Tigers took charge

And the margin was large

A 6 goal loss to the team from west Sydney

Richmond 16.13 (109)  def.  Greater Western Sydney 10.13 (73)

King and Higgins went into the breach

And kicked four magnificent goals each

With 40 disposals Brayshaw

Couldn’t do that much more

As the Saints finished just out of reach

Fremantle 8.7 (55) def. by St Kilda 9.11 (65)
