Round 19 – ‘winter grin’: haiku bob
winter grin –
mouthguards
ear to ear
rainy night . . .
Murphy absorbs
every drop
another lead change
I open another
bottle of wine
deep into time-on –
the kick to win the game
bends with the crowd
watching her
watch Billy
kick the goal
downpour –
Adelaide Oval knee deep
in magpie song
the sort of win that lingers winter rain
