Round 17 – Sal’s Preview: Part 1 – Is it Goodbye?
Greetings All,
Just looking at the one game today and the rest will follow later. That game has much to cover.
Dusty (51%) vs Buddy (49%)
A pair of legends return for a critical game for both the Tigers and Swans, both a game and a half out of the eight and with so many teams around them vying for a chance to play in September. Every game between these is the proverbial eight point game. Richmond also get Prestia back so essentially they now have all their best midfielders in the team, Lynch and Short aside they are at full strength. The issue is whether they know what their best team is as there are number of young players trying to claim their spot with Banks and Bauer making their debuts. Sydney have brought back two of the best 22 in Franklin and McCartin, they are also close to full strength. Papley got off the chain in their last meeting, they need one of their forwards to do the same in this game. The Richmond defence has all the match ups to stop Sydney – but will they do it? At the other end Sydney to seem to have the cover of the Tigers forwards. So it comes down to the middle and it’s close but just think Richmond have numbers in there to provide superiority and get them over. Then again wouldn’t we love some Buddy magic in what might be his final appearance at the MCG.
Till later, Go Bud
Cheers, Sal
