the night drifts along until Didak
another night
punctuated
by Harry’s stampedes
Jolly sidesteps the night all to himself
first goal in an hour
followed by another
a minute later
World Cup month
and now Daisy tries
a scissor kick
night sounds a smother ricochets off the roof
Swan up the ground and back one touch at a time
night chill
in everything except
Dawes’ hands
packed footy train –
scoring a seat ends a night
of ridiculous ease
About rob scott
Rob Scott (aka Haiku Bob) is a peripatetic haiku poet who calls Victoria Park home. He writes haiku in between teaching whisky and drinking English, or something like that.
This is not my work. Tim Shiel, RRR Breakfaster wrote this and sent it to Harry O, the subject. Was disappointed he didn’t get a response, so he read it on the radio this morning. I thought you might enjoy it.
Creative thinker
Oh warm my winter soul like
the freshest of Pies
Harry O was very busy at the Digital Sports Summit.
Wonderful haikus up above!
These ones probably capture the spirit of the match:
“first goal in an hour
followed by another
a minute later
World Cup month
and now Daisy tries
a scissor kick”
and so do the one-liners.

Thank you.

I missed Tim’s contribution so thanks for sharing it. He has summed up Harry well.
