Round 11 – Like playing the Romans in Rome

Friday night in Sin City

Indigenous jumpers were looking so pretty

This game I did study

And determined the difference was Buddy

Kicked that goal from inside the centre square so devastatingly.

Sydney 16.10 (106) def Richmond 15.10 (100)

There was a young team from Brissy

Had a win after Neale got busy

The Giants had Greene

His talent easily seen

And Callan Ward was reportedly dizzy.

Brisbane Lions 16.14 (110) def Greater Western Sydney 15.6 (96)

The Cats are hard to beat at home

Like playing the Romans in Rome

Today Rome would not fall

It’s just a game of football

The Cats won, and Jezza kicked 4 on his own.

Geelong 15.7 (97) def Adelaide 7.13 (55)

Undefeated Naarm came up against Freo

The Dockers gave them a 38 point heave ho

Is the streak really done?

Naarm are now one and one

And Melbourne are still nine and oh.

Narrm 7.14 (56) def by Fremantle 14.10 (94)

Even though Darling kicked four

The Doggies had goal-kickers galore

16 of them in all

They had most of the ball

To win by 101 and not a point more.

West Coast 9.6 (60) def by Western Bulldogs 25.11 (161)

A Suns home game in the NT

At TIO Stadium they played with mastery

The Hawks were so slow

And just couldn’t go

With the likes of Miller, Rosas and Jeffrey.

Gold Coast 18.13 (121) def Hawthorn 7.12 (54)

There was a lad named Michito

The first of his name to get an AFL go

For the Saints he kicked two

Oh, and defeated the Roos

By about 50 points or so.

St Kilda 15.13 (103) def North Melbourne 7.8 (50)

The Lads from Carringbush

Saw a prime opportunity to push

Some cocky blue bloods down

In front of half the town

And sent them home with a 4 point kick in the tush.

Collingwood 11.13 (79) def Carlton 11.9 (75)

Port Adelaide loved the dry ball

Four first quarter goals, they kicked them all

Then came the rain

For which the Bombers did train

But they couldn’t quite catch Port after all.

Port Adelaide 9.12 (66) def Essendon 6.14 (50)

Eleven rounds are now done

That’s half the home and away fun

Oh but you see

Eleven’s half of twenty three

Come on, try to explain that one.
