Merle Brown’s Women’s Footy Anthem

While Yvette Wroby was chatting with the Coodabeen Champions last Saturday about Siren’s Call, she also had the opportunity to mention the upcoming launch of The Women’s Footy Almanac 2017.

 

To Yvette’s delight, she received an email from a listener Merle, who had been so taken with the advent of the AFLW season she penned an anthem  – she hoped it would be sung by both teams before games. It is a celebration and Merle is kind enough to let us share her  version of the song.

As Merle says, “I imagined the women lined up facing each other before the game and sing this to and at each other, ferociously and joyfully.”

 

Merle and her friends are now coming to the launch of The Women’s Footy Almanac 2017.
