Lachie Neale
Those Carlton fans go nuts for Cripps.
They replay every reel.
‘All bow down to Cripps,’ they say.
‘His Brownlow sealed the deal.’
Well, Lachie’s won the Brownlow twice…
so why should Lachie kneel?

Love it, mate.
Very good, and interesting that a dyed in the wool Pies guy would even think to twist the knife in a Blues great. Oh, don’t worry about me, I read too much into everything. :)
Ha! Nice one Damian.
It’s a draw between those two
Thanks all, no disrespect to Cripps – he is mighty – but I had to use him here to make the poem work. I do find it odd that some people still don’t rate Neale though. A champion. So clean below his knees.
Andrew McLeod was once described by someone (can’t remember who) as “the best footballer I’ve seen with balls below his knees”, so Neale has something to live up to.
Swish, I will definitely not google that phrase, but I have to confess I loved watching Andrew McLeod. What a player! My second favourite Crow behind Darren Jarman.
