Haven’t I heard this idea before? Ideas from Footy Almanackers well ahead of the times

This morning as I was drinking my coffee I just about spat it out when I went to The Age’s AFL page to see the big headline “AFL Father – daughter rule considered for women’s league” written by Caroline Wilson (see link http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/afl-fatherdaughter-rule-considered-for-womens-league-20160308-gndycd.html)

The reason for me just about spitting out my coffee was back in July 2012 I wrote an article for the Almanac website about how the AFL should consider a father-daughter rule (see link http://www.footyalmanac.com.au/i-introduce-the-father-daughter-rule/).

Okay I will admit that my article had a slightly different angle to the father – daughter rule than what the AFL may be considering but as far as I am concerned this just is another piece of evidence that us fellow Almanackers are again the ones who come up with brilliant ideas to improve the game of AFL, well before any one else.

Lets keep those ideas flowing fellow Almanackers!!!!

Looks like at least 1 son might have come over to the 2004 Premiership side! But Andrew, I hope they are starting to play the great game of Aussie Rulles, not “AFL”.
