Haiku Bob: Round 6 – a shade more

after my team wins

I tell her I can play

guitar

leaves aflutter

the forward line

looking lively

wind gusts –

the back and forth

of the Sherrin

Autumn sky –

a shade more black and white

in the crowd

commentators on mute –

Pendlebury narrates

the win

burst of sunshine

Collingwood briefly

back to life

MCG dusk –

players jumping

at shadows

Autumn rain

drinking in

my football team’s win

Comments

  1. The joy of haiku is how an economy of words says so much. Images more than descriptors.
Loved the playing guitar and Pendlebury narrates verses.
    Thanks HB

  2. Another Brilliant Set of Haikus.

  3. MGLFerguson says

    Ball rolled on the ground,
    favored men couldn’t grab it:
    Selwood under wraps.

  4. MGLFerguson says

    Flat, slow and fumbly’s
no way to play footy, son.
    Geelong lose again.
