Haiku Bob – Round 18: tail end of winter

winter clouds thicken
before we know it
8 goals down

tail end of winter
our only goal
this quarter

wet with dew
players slide
towards defeat

defeat certain –
with what life remains
I pour another drink

my team loses
I stare
at the moon

winning, losing
winning, losing
football in July

winter rain
this latest loss
soaks everything
