Haiku Bob – Round 15: incurable hope
July 5, 2017 by 3 Comments
taking my kid
to her first game –
sun and moon
crucial kick –
quiet enough in the stadium
to hear it
new glasses –
the same blemishes
in our forward line
we hit the front –
my incurable hope
resurfaces
what are we here for?
my daughter screams
“We’re in front!”
brilliant sunset –
the game losing
its appeal
defeat looms –
my daughter wears
my face
