‘Gabba Test, Australia v India – Day Four : The Chase is On (live comments)

The run chase is on at the ‘Gabba with Australia needing 128 for an outright win.

Despite some resistance from Dharwan, who made 81 before being caught leg before by Nathan Lyon and Yadav with a cavalier 30, the Indians were all out for 224.

  1. It will be interesting to see if this can be wrapped up by stumps. 118 to go…

  2. I think Alex Kountouris might need a little bit more than the magic spray for Warner’s thumb. Obviously in real bother here…

  3. Watson must go

  4. Solid win. Too much reliance on S Smith and Johnson. Haddin is a big problem. Keeping and batting badly. Which keeper do we take to the old dart?

  5. Peter Flynn says

Haddin and Watson are being attacked with short-pitched bowling.

They were present when Hughes was struck.

  6. Malcolm Ashwood says

That’s a good point PJF , but has Watson got a photo of a selector having sex with a goat ?

  7. Great point Peter. Haddin in particular has been uncharacteristically unsure against the short ball. Could very well be related to the tragic events in that shield game.

  8. What are the prospects of Dan Christian making his test debut @ the G? Mitch Marsh being injured, Shane Watson currently hopelessly out classed at test level, if we want an all rounder Christian is in form.

    Glen!

  9. Australia head to the MCG a two-nil series lead, and although I can see the virtue of trying out the Ashes line-up (Surely Haddin and Watson stay home?) you’d be loathe to break up a winning combination. If they’re not injured, play the same XI in Melbourne. If the series is wrapped up, wholesale change (preferably the Ashes XI) get a dress re-hearsal at the SCG
