Almanac Footy Rivalries: Brisbane v Collingwood

AFL history is full of great rivalries between the League’s older clubs. The advent of the likes of Brisbane, West Coast, Adelaide and Port Adelaide have only added to that special energy that drives some clashes – think West Coast v Sydney Swans or the South Australian Showdown as examples.

For those up north, perhaps it’s the Lions v Collingwood with its roots based in the Nathan Buckley move and then the 2002 and 2003 Grand Finals.

With the teams clashing tonight to open Round 5 of the 2022 season, we looked into the Almanac’s files to unearth reports of their meetings over the past decade or so.

If you’re fortunate enough to have today off, get comfortable and take in our collection of Lions v Magpies reports  here.
