FEARLESS 2020 Round 16: Hi marathoners, I can see the entrance to the main stadium…

BYES: Collingwood/Campbelltown/Cottesloe/Currumbin Magpies

And Richmond/Red Hill Tigers

Queensland Hub Game Number 56: Nerang Roos v Port Adelaide Power at Metricon Saturday Night. Merely it was a case of 17th v1st with neither team having any normal home ground concept! The Roadkill Roos were looking for the end. The Power were looking to get thru relatively unscathed. Both occurred with the Roos managing competitive effort for just over 3 qtrs. Port 2x5minute bursts on way to a 36pt win.

Queensland Hub Game Number 57: Sunshine Coast Saints hosted the Humbug Scrub Hawks at Metricon on Sunday. Despite Clarko’s postmatch assessment, the Saints did as required to register a win. Ratts’ response candid but fitting. Young Hawks Day and Cousins got plenty of the ball, but the Saints had the polish when it mattered. Both sides a bit wayward with St. Battle 1.3 worst. Saints’ finals bound in 2020…

Queensland Hub Game Number 58: Gaven Cats hosted the Eagleby Bombers at the Gabba on Sunday and when you’re 5 goals up at qtr time, your opponents are either slow to start or haven’t shown up. The Bombers didn’t show and a 10 goal lead at the 1 /2 became a 11 goal win. Hawkins 4, G-Bryan 3, Sam Menegola-Kelly getting 30…Tim who? As for the Bombers, the focus is now on Ben Rutten for 2021…

Queensland Hub Game Number 59: Worongary Bulldogs hosted the Eagle Heights Eagles at Metricon on Sunday Night. Strictly speaking, it wasn’t a goal by the Bont. So, a 2pt win maybe might’ve been deemed an incorrect result…but that’s irrelevant. What the Dogs sought and did was to beat a more-fancied opponent. The midfields went toe to toe and the more Blue collar Doggies won out. Both 2020 finals-ready.

Queensland Hub Game Number 60: Marochydore Demons hosted the FNQ Dockers at Cazaly’s Stadium in Cairns on a tropically wet Monday Night. The footy world got a taste of why Michael Walters is so good and why the Demons’ time masquerading as the Mirriwinni Demons was disastrous. 2 games. 2 losses. Freo had all answers from start. Walters 3. Adam Cerra 30 continues fine year. Dees loss costly for finals?

Adelaide Hub Game Number 14: Adelaide Crows hosted the Gilston Giants at the Adelaide Oval on Tuesday Evening…and speaking of costly…the Giants lost to the last-placed Crows. Not to disrespect your opponent BUT when your finals campaign is on a knife’s edge, then WTF. The Crows had slowly started to turn things around and win number 2 builds confidence. The Ferrari’s spluttering season continues..

Queensland Hub Game Number 61: Cooroy Blues hosted South Johnstone Swans at Metricon on Tuesday Night..and nearly as costly when you give opponents a 7 goal start. Zac Fisher gave the Blues their 1st goal midway thru 2nd qtr. Then 3 more goals before the half and margin had dropped to 16pts. Swans 1 goal in 2nd half. Blues got momentum, rookie Cottrell kicked winner and partied like 1999. Blues by 5pts.

Queensland Hub Game Number 62: Brisbane Lions host the Gold Coast Suns at the Gabba on Wednesday Night. This was really the Pearce Hanley Cup, in honour of the retiring Irishman. Sometimes games just unfold as expected, like here. Brisbane playing for finals, Suns playing for pride and improvement. A 45pt Lions win, Lachie Neale 33, Rayner 3 goals, Corbett, King 2 for Suns. Zorko BOG.
