Crio’s Racing: Thousand Guineas Day

The Melbourne Racing Club persists with a 3-Day Carnival, the little sister of which is tomorrow’s Thousand Guineas Day.
Crowds have dwindled and this meeting nowadays has little profile, though the feature invariably throws up a class winner.

Guelph (MR6, No1) is 5/2 on to continue this trend.

My best is MR5 No1 E/W.

The Caulfield Cup barrier draw will be held at the track Wednesday morning and the fields for Saturday released by midday.

We’ll sneak a look at them after the races tomorrow and try to bounce back from last week’s setback.

Good luck!

Crio, they couldn’t beat Guelph ,favourite out betting maybe May’s Dream.
Small field in the first with ‘The Bowler’ likely to get a soft lead,(Oliver on for Newitt), it’s a shocker for overracing but if he can stack them up likely to get away with it.

  2. Cowshedend have to back the aptly named the Bowler tomorrow seeing as Ive committed to the season ahead.
Do you think any of the o/seas horses are a chance in the Caulfield Cup?

  3. R5 – genius

Well done Crio. I can’t believe I missed this one.

At about 2pm a colleague of mine received mail via the trainer that Backbone would run very, very well today (and apparently, M.Kent never gives anything away). Basically code for, have an almighty crack at it

Then got caught up in a work meeting, forgot all about it. Aforementioned colleague pops around beaming at 3:05pm.

    “Oh no …it didn’t…”
