It’s actually a really good meeting at Flemington this Saturday and I won’t be there – the boss is hospitalized, my knee’s stuffed and, sadly, I can list plenty of places I’d rather attend than HQ.
Despite the attractions of strong fields and great prizemoney for the “Finals” day, few will attend. What we’ll miss is the last chapter in a strong series of races that support owners, trainers and “stakeholders” off-peak.
Buoyed by last week’s bolter in the last, here are some Quaddy indicators, plus a roughie for the multis in each leg…
MR5- 3, 2 (beware all Vasil’s at the moment so watch 8 at odds)
MR6- 12, 13 (wanted to include Hollowlea, but definitely will have Magnifique Soleil in exotics)
MR7- 4, 9 (add 10)
MR8- 2 (like the 10 as the bolter)
Good luck!
Crio’s Racing: Flemington

Old footy injury Crio? Keep well lubricated and see if that helps
Good winner in last weeks post- even though Duric was on it as usual I didnt back it.
Had a day at the “Bridge” on Wednesday – a good course for speed coming down the hill but sad to see such a poor crowd at a once popular well positioned course (but thats racing these days away from Carnivals)
Will study the form and look to what others say but with a heavy track here and in Melbourne anything is possible
It certainly won’t be a Heavy track here. Last night’s drenching skipped Flemington and a Dead track looks probable.
No footy injuries for me Oges – barely got my knees dirty let alone hurt.
Funnily, I have such a Saturday habit now that I have tried to think of all the places I’d allegedly rather be at than HQ and I can’t list many! If it is not too dire I might end up popping down fot the quaddy after all.
While checking the fields on RISA I noticed a meeting at Oak Park in Qlds cattle country. Am intrigued by the names of some of the jockeys riding
Interested in Riziz in the fifth. Didn’t set the world on fire in Adelaide recently, then came out and saluted in the Gold Topaz @ Swan Hill. 100% strike rate @ headquarters, hope he maintains it.
Oges, there’s a TAB meeting @ Corowa on Monday.
Happy punting !
Glen!
Echuca on Monday also – bit close together don’t you think?
Glen- grounded in SA – dont worry I will get to Corowa
Riziz won well at S/H – a chance again
The Port Augusta Cup is also on this weekend – another “Carnival” we used to attend midweek instead of Uni.
Dicky knee Crio? Dr Jock recommends Glenfiddich, works better than anything that I get prescribed.
I like a few at odds at Flemington tomorrow. Batman will go a lot better with a senior rider on in the 4th ( very strange ride last start). I’m not a great Riziz fan although I’ve had a few good results on it but at 2/1 you can leave me out, happy to go EW on Dash for Viz in a race with few chances. Where I really go left field is in the winter champ final, I’m having some on Rockpecker and I’ll come home on Ominous Quality in the last with a few gear changes.
Morphettville is tough but Counter Sign will get an easy run up front in the 4th and should go close. I’m keen on Baron Douro in the 7th mainly because I think it’s looking for the mile but the rider is a big concern
I reckon i win more than Dash For Viz, though it at least is thereabouts!
The track, as usual, is the query here. I reckon they’ll water it overnight to get the magic Dead4 but then it may rain tmrw arvo.
Dark and Stormy is a good cure all!
true re Dash 4 Viz but looks a great race for it although given its record I expect disappointment
If it is a “one off” then have a punt – but it is not a horse to “follow”.
I’m giving Veewap a show so it is that sort of a race.
