  4. Thanks for the great feedback Matt and Chris, Last year I turned the trees in the park into being happy magpies and painted two disheartened Sainters and their dog walking, because all I could see was the black and white. This year, it’s not us that were dismembered in the GF, so at least that’s something. I wrote about that painting when I did it earlier in the year, when I wrote my piece for this years book, I said that I would have to rework it, but until I put the Cheshire Cat in, I hadn’t touched it. Suddenly, with the evil cat, it took on a new life, the trees grew and the shrubbery came in and the birds arrived and I’ve cartooned my painting and bought it a new football life.

It’s now hanging up at the Kinch Cafe who have a perpetual 5 of my differing art pieces. It’s on the corner of Balaclava and Hawthorn Road Caulfield.

Gotta love this life of footy, writing and art

    Yvette,
It’s brilliant. I hope to make the pilgrimage in the next week or so to view the several pieces. I love the fact that your writing here provides context for your paintings, so that they are comprehensible for a relative art philistine like me. I’m also impressed by the passion and great-heartedness you bring to your work – with brush as well as pen (key-board?).

  10. Dear Alovesupreme, let me know what you think of my local cafe and my artwork. I’m planning to use that venue for a total footy exhibition in about March next year, before the footy starts, so I’m painting and cartooning madly and all will be up then. They make lovely food at the Kinch as well. Thanks for your kind words too

If any of you are going to be at the Almanac Launch, make sure you search me out and say hello. I love meeting the people I have communicated with on this site.

    Yvette
