Aussie Rules – Passion and Pain Exhibition

Round 6; A Sunday Smashing Kate Birrell, 2017

This Exhibition will celebrate art inspired by Aussie Rules Football in all its exuberant passion, pain, pathos and poignancy. Works are sought which depict the raw emotion of supporting, playing, volunteering or working in some aspect of the game.

This is an opportunity to tell the story of tribalism, commitment to the game, a club (any Aussie Rules Club) and those involved in it. The Rotary Club is particularly keen to source exhibits of memorabilia, paintings, photos, sculptures and ceramics. Anything which will lay bare the passions, will be considered.

Submissions of images are sought from visual artists of 2D –any medium and 3D works for consideration. Maximum Height of 2D works-2 metres and Width 2.5 metres

Submissions are also sought for proposals for Installation works not exceeding 2 square metres. Opening Date for submissions-1 December, 2017-Closing date for submissions-27 May, 2018

    This exhibition was inspired when Rotarian Heather Welsh read ‘Siren’s Call’. One act of creativity leads to another. I love how this works!!
