Zoom Event today (April 11) to discuss the 1989 Grand Final – Wilson, Yeates, Harms.

At the Almanac, we hope you’re taking a responsible approach to the current health crisis by setting up for a quiet Easter weekend at home. But that doesn’t mean it has to be dull, colourless and boring. Instead, here’s an opportunity to join in a celebration of one of the greatest games ever.

Tony Wilson, author of 1989: The Great Grand Final, John Harms, Geelong fan tragic and editor of footyalmanac.com.au, and former Geelong player Mark Yeates get together to discuss the infamous 1989 Grand Final between Hawthorn and Geelong. It was the match had everything: unbridled violence, high scoring, nine goals by Gary Ablett Snr, broken ribs, a six-goal clawback and finally, a one goal loss.

    All welcome.

  2. Predictive spelling or is Mark’s wife/partner Mary?

  3. Sorted. Thanks Roy.

  4. Colin Ritchie says

  5. Mark 'Swish' Schwerdt says

What else can we use Zoom for? Live FAL? Friday arvo virtual drinks? Can we get a camera put in at the NFA?

  6. Thanks JTH greatly appreciated

  7. Damian Roache says

For a second there, I was thinking it was the classic Canberra v Balmain extra time cliffhanger Rugby League Grand Final. ?

  8. Terrific broadcast. Really enjoyed it.
