Almanacker wins Football Victoria media award

The judges said that Luke’s winning photo of Akeisha Sandhu and Kath Goff of South Melbourne FC “captures the raw emotion of football”

When a member of the Almanac community wins an award of any type, it is great cause for celebration.

For the past couple of years, Luke Radziminski has contributed written and pictorial reports for the Footy Almanac, primarily focussing on the National Premier League. He has also been the Almanac’s Wednesday editor for some time now. Last night, the NPL held its annual Gold Medal Night, a function which celebrates the season’s best and fairest players, coaches of the year, best goalkeepers, golden boot winners and more in Victorian soccer’s men’s and women’s premier leagues.

There is also a media category. And it was here that Luke took home the Les Shorrock Award for ‘best football image’ (above). The judges said that the photograph “captures the raw emotion of football”.

Join with us all here at The Footy Almanac in congratulating Luke on this fine achievement.
