Almanac Writers’ Festivals: Manly Writers’ Festival – ‘Sport as a microcosm of Society’

Footy Almanac friend and well-known sports author Patrick Skene is participating next weekend at the Manly Writers’ Festival as a guest panelist on the session ‘Sport as a microcosm of  Society’.

It’s a rare moment when sports history gets dedicated sessions at a writers’ festival but it’s happening at the Manly Writers Festival with a session on ‘Sport as a microcosm for Society.’

Four authors will cover a range of sports history topics including the history of Aboriginal participation in soccer and horse racing, George Best’s Australian adventures, the Pacific Revolution in Rugby League, the story of Chinese heritage Aussie Rules and the impact of foreign imports into Australian soccer leagues.
