Almanac Weekend Reading: “The West Coast boys done bad”

Here’s one for the reading pile.
Martin McKenzie-Murray has a very interesting piece in the current issue of “The Monthly.”

It is called “The West Coast boys done bad”

The article looks at club culture through various lenses; among them Perth, celebrity, police, Chris Judd’s book, Ben Cousins’ book and elite sport.

Thanks for this thought-provoking and fascinating read which makes me really think about loyalty, culture and our idolisation of our sporting heroes whom we usually know little else about.

    Highly recommended.
