  1. Great to see Mark Arceri (Carl) being recognised for his 1 goal. Maybe that’s also a theme for another team Rodney – players who kicked 100% of their teams goals.

  2. Well Dan, I can think of a bloke who kicked twice as many as Marc Arceri.

R 12 1971, Steve Hoffman who played for South Melbourne, a long gone club, kicked both of their goals in the loss to Melbourne.

Also re a few others. Gary Ayres kicked 3 on debut, one of his six times he kicked 3. These go with his two bags of 5.

Tim Darcy bagged 5 in his sixth game, one of his three bags of 5.

    Glen!

  3. DBalassone says

Stellar work, Rodney. I almost spewed when I saw the reference to the ’84 Prelim. Please never mention that game again.

I imagine that this list could be endless. Talented footballers can kick bags on their day. A couple of others that spring to mind, and forgive me if you mentioned in previous post:

Andrew Tranquilli kicked six versus the Eagles in ’94 igniting an unlikely victory.

Darren Cuthbertson kicked seven against the Pies on Anzac Day ’91. I reckon he sat on a Pies players head as well, at some stage. He destroyed us that day

  4. Thanks Dan I had to put Arceri in for my Carlton friends. Unsure if there is many with 100% of goals. I think Brad Hardie did with three goals against Richmond. Might be a few who kicked 3 out of 4 for example.

Thanks Glen you are always a great wealth of knowledge especially for years before I started following footy.

Thanks Damian for your kind words. Have Tranquilli and Cuthbertson coming up next week.

  5. G’day Rodney, I reckon Brad Plain kicked 3 of Essendon’s 4 in the 1989 loss to Geelong.

There’s been a recent posting on the Almanack re this ‘muddy scrap’.

    Keep up the good work.

    Glen!

  6. Thanks Glen that is a good one
